This project started out as an experimentation alone after the departure/split from the last band I was in (Klehma) 3 years ago in 2014. I decided to try out a 7 string for fun and ended up writing a few songs over the years; then a few became many, and I still never found a group to work with so I just kept writing. I composed all songs rhythm and lead to a metronome, and recording software on my Line 6 practice amp. Over the duration of making this material I decided to seek out professional help to add everything into complete orchestration
(By end of 2017 I finished recording vocals and went to Redroof Productions for final remix/remaster for full release in 2018.) This album alone to me is a passionate reflection of the influential styles I grew up to love in my teen years. Melodic Death and Metalcore, and a dedication to my fallen family. My biggest influences to my writing involve: Insomnium, In Flames, Dark Tranquility, Angel Vivaldi, Children Of Bodom, As I Lay Dying, Amon Amarth, Shadows Fall, Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, August Burns Red, Parkway Drive. The list could go on indefinitely. At the closing of the long 6 month recording process to this album I came about the official name for this project. "Ecdysis" due to the ever changing nature of my sound and styles. The true definition of "Ecdysis" is the process of shedding skin or outer layer symbolically to become a new. During writing and recording this album I was diagnosed with a rare skin disorder "Vitiligo" at age 28 which also symbolizes the name as well. Lastly came the name of the album and artwork itself which symbolizes, and defines my life story as a whole. The lone survivor child (Revenant) in the midst of the aftermath of tyranny (Omen) lies a storm to a new beginning. With all my investment, heart, and tears put into this, I present to you
Revenant's Omen.
